White Hart pub, Tulse Hill: Licensing application

We are pleased to hear a licensing application has been submitted to reopen the White Hart at Tulse Hill station. The pub is now owned by The Brading Group who run the popular Prince of Peckham pub at Peckham Rye. Full details on the application can be read here on the excellent Brixton Buzz website.

Last year there was a planning application to hive off the upper floors as residential accommodation and Norwood Forum objected to the application.  It was feared that this would endanger the future use of the pub as a pub.  The application was rejected and the Brading Group will take on the whole building and hopefully develop it to its full capacity.

If you agree reopening the pub would be a good thing or you have concerns, you can make comments on the Licensing application here by 11 February 2020.  Norwood Forum and Norwood Action Group have made a joint submission in its favour with the provision that the proposed hours of opening should be subject to careful consideration including taking account of the views of local residents and by reference to the licence granted to other pubs and similar in the area.
