Norwood Forum is deeply saddened by the news of Bob Tydeman’s passing earlier this month.
Bob, pictured below, presenting an award at this year’s Lambeth Horticultural Society Spring Flower Show, was best known to many as the Show Secretary, a role he carried out for many years with calm, kindness, and professionalism. His dedication and attention to detail helped make each event a success, and his quiet efficiency ensured everything ran smoothly - often without others realising just how much work he did behind the scenes.
As recently as last month, Bob was at the helm of the Late Summer Show 2025, demonstrating his trademark enthusiasm and expertise. His absence will be keenly felt, not only for his organisational skill but for the warmth and generosity he brought to every task.
A service to celebrate Bob’s life will take place on Wednesday 12 November at West Norwood Crematorium from 11am to 11.30am, followed by a gathering at the Rosendale Allotments Community Hall, 227 Rosendale Road, SE21 8LP.
Due to limited space, attendees are asked to email in advance if they wish to attend. Email: admin@lambethhorticulturalsociety.org.uk
Donations in lieu of flowers can be made in Bob’s memory to St Christopher’s Hospice. The service will be recorded, and a link will be made available for those unable to join in person.
Bob’s contribution to the local community and his gentle spirit will be remembered with great affection and gratitude.
