Holy Trinity Church in Tulse Hill had a devastating break in with over £4,000 worth of power tools used.
The Anglican church has an award winning community project and the power tools were bought through generous donations by the church.
The power tools were being used for a community project which has trained more than 500 volunteers in eco-friendly building techniques.
The church is planning a large scale Neighbourhood Hub to the rear of the church. It will be the first straw-bale church building in Europe and the largest straw-bale building in London.
