Lambeth Council set for extra funding to help households stay warm

A coalition of 12 London boroughs including Lambeth has been awarded £26m in a successful joint bid for the Green Homes Grant.

This money will be invested in thousands of cold and energy-inefficient properties occupied by low-income households, helping to deliver a healthier, fairer, greener London.

Private and social landlords may also apply to the scheme on behalf of eligible tenants, receiving a grant of up to £5,000 to cover 2/3 of works.

Upgrading homes to make them warmer, less draughty, less prone to damp and mould and cheaper to run will have co-benefits for people from improved physical and mental health to more secure finances and productivity in work and school.
