Roy Vickery will lead a New Year Wild Flower Hunt in Brockwell Park on Thursday 1 January 2026. Attendees will meet at the Clock Tower near Brockwell Hall at 11am, with the walk concluding at the Herne Hill entrance at 12.30pm.

The annual survey, held since 2017, contributes to the Botanical Society of Britain and Ireland’s New Year Plant Hunt. The event is open to all, and no prior botanical knowledge is required. In 2025, 32 species were recorded in flower with an average of 27 since the hunt began.

No booking is required.

When: Thursday 1 January 2026, 11am–12.30pm
Where: Meet at the Clock Tower near Brockwell Hall; walk ends at the Herne Hill entrance to Brockwell Park.
