The West Norwood Library & Picturehouse will open on Friday, 9 November some eight years after the building shut following the burglary of the copper roofing and subsequent flooding. It was Lambeth council that initially approached Picturehouse with the bold idea of turning the Nettlefold into a cinema complex alongside a public library. Contracts were exchanged in December 2015 and although it has taken longer than expected to complete the build, and there is some criticism of Picturehouse's unwillingness to pay the London Living Wage, this will undoubtedly make a huge difference to Norwood not least having a new enhanced town centre library.
What's on at the four screen cinema can be found here on the Picturehouse website.
