Norwood Action Group (NAG) is organising a public meeting to consider the impact of the pavement widening between Chatsworth Way and Chestnut Road initiated by the StreetWorks project. Like most improvements, this has elicited a mixed reception. The NAG newsletter conducted a survey and found that opinion was split roughly 50:50 between those who approved and those who disapproved. Whilst pedestrians have in general been pleased with the new pavement, some businesses are concerned and claim that the relocation of parking has resulted in reduced takings and have organised a petition which has garnered over 1,000 signatures. Issues of cycle safety, traffic congestion, and access by emergency services have also been raised.
Whether you are FOR or AGAINST the new pavement come along to the meeting.
When: Monday, 10 September at 7:00pm.
Where: Chatsworth Baptist Church, Chatsworth Way, London SE27 9HN
