The three political hustings in Dulwich and West Norwood (DAWN) have now been held.
The well attended Climate Change Hustings at the Portico Gallery on 27 November was chaired by Mums for Lungs. Three (of the six) DAWN candidates were there; in alphabetical order: Jonathan Bartley (Green Party), Helen Hayes (Labour Party) and Julia Stephenson (Brexit Party). They talked about their Party and personal contribution to tackling the climate emergency we are facing.
Just three candidates attended the East Dulwich political question time on 29 November: Jacqueline Bond (Green Party; standing in for Jonathan Bartley), Helen Hayes (Labour Party) and Jane Lyons (Conservative Party). They answered a wide ranging 18 questions from the engaged audience, covering issues such as climate change, NHS funding, taxation and of course BREXIT.
The last of the hustings was held on 3 December. Giles Gibson, from Herne Hill Forum, chaired the event led by Herne Hill Forum and supported by the Norwood Forum. Five candidates spoke to a full and lively audience:
Jonathan Bartley (Green Party), Helen Hayes (Labour Party), Anthony Hodgson (Christian Peoples Alliance), Jane Lyons (Conservative Party) and John Plume (UKIP).
We hope these events have given everyone a chance to make up their minds before Thursday week.
Polling Stations are open from 7am to 10pm on Thursday 12 December; don’t forget to vote!
