Start the New Year on a positive and refreshing note with the Annual Wild Flower Hunt in Brockwell Park, led by Roy Vickery from the South London Botanical Institute, on New Year’s Day!
Join Roy for a fascinating exploration of the park’s wildflowers. The hunt will begin at 11am at the Clock Tower near Brockwell Hall, at the top of the hill. It will last approximately 60 - 90 minutes, finishing at the Herne Hill entrance to the park.
Roy Vickery is a renowned botanist, specialising in plant-lore, and is the former president of the South London Botanical Institute. He is also the author of Vickery's Folk Flora. Roy worked as a botanist at the Natural History Museum in London from 1965 to 2007 and continues to serve as Scientific Associate at the Museum. With over four decades of experience, Roy has dedicated his career to collecting and writing about plant folklore and the traditional uses of plants. Visit Roy's website here.
