This fun, energetic course introduces you to some key skills in Community Organising. Community Organising is the work of bringing people together to take action around their common concerns and overcome social injustice. Community Organisers reach out and listen, connect and motivate people to build their collective power. This one-session course will take place on Monday 9 December from 9.30am to 5pm at High Trees in Tulse Hill. The session is designed so that everybody can take part and share their ideas and experiences and learn some practical tools and skills.
At the end of this course, you will be able to:
- Find out how you can get involved in social action to make a difference in your community.
- Understand what community organising involves and what it looks like in the real world.
- Explore how people come together to act on their concerns to build community and overcome social injustice.
- Develop practical listening skills and tactics to plan a listening campaign or activity in the community.
