Lambeth has let us know about the carrying out of two of the final components of the Streetworks Project - Norwood Road phase:
- York Hill/Lancaster Avenue junction diagonal crossing: overnight on Monday 12 June 2023 a buff coloured anti-skid surface will be laid over all the straight and diagonal crossing legs. Lambeth will not allow the yellow box to be completely covered, and the treatment will be laid between the yellow lines - which will at least provide clear demarkation of the pedestrian crossing. These works could not be carried out along with the resurfacing works back in January because of the low winter temperature. This section of the road will need to be temporarily closed.
- Carriageway resurfacing from Avenue Park Road to the Tulse Hill gyratory to complete the final stretch which was postponed whilst work was completed to improve the drainage under the bridge. This will be carried out overnight between Tuesday 1 August to Friday 4 August. Norwood Road will be closed from Elmcourt Road north to Christchurch Road. An extensive diversion for buses and other road users will operate (in both directions) using Knight's Hill, Crown Dale, Leigham Court Road, Streatham High Road and Christchurch Road.
Other dates have been suggested previously, but we believe these to be the most current. Please check back for further updates and potential clarifications.
We have asked Lambeth to provide the exact traffic management arrangements (including buses) and timings, and will publish these when we have them.
