Public health poster delivery- Covid 19
Lambeth Council’s Public Health Team is looking for over 20 volunteers to deliver posters to locations such as shops around the borough. The posters will display Covid-19 public health advice. The pick-up and delivery location will be communicated to those who volunteer, ensuring that you can volunteer as close as possible to where you live. To volunteer, please sign up here.
Disability Advice Service
Disability Advice Service Lambeth (DASL) is a local, user-led organisation run by disabled people. They are looking for volunteers to support disabled people in Lambeth in a range of activities, encouraging them to be more active, making welfare calls, hosting Zoom coffee mornings or supporting them with tasks such as completing forms. I Have a Voice
I Have a Voice local start-up, that empowers people to engage with politics so that their voices are heard, is looking for Trustees to help it grow. I have a voice is looking for Trustees with a broad range of skills from education provision and youth engagement to governance, digital infrastructure and marketing. As a social enterprise focused on empowering under-represented groups, people from all backgrounds are encouraged to apply. Youth Offending Service- Referral Order Community Panel Member
Lambeth Youth Offending Service (YOS) is looking for a diverse range of volunteers from the community to help children and young people stay out of trouble. How? Become a Referral Order Community Panel Member. Application form download
What is a Referral Order Panel?
A child/ young person (usually 10 - 17 years old) who pleads guilty to an offence can be given a Referral Order at Court and be referred to a panel at the YOS. A Referral Order lasts for between 3 to 12 months. A Referral Order Panel consists of two volunteers from the local community and member of staff from the YOS. The panel will meet with the child/young person and their parents or carers to agree a tailor-made contract aimed at repairing the harm caused by the offence and identify things to help the young person stay out of trouble in the future. The contract is supervised by the YOS and reviewed at regular panel meetings with the child/young person, their parent/carer, YOS Officer and community panel members.
Become a Community Panel Member and be a consistent figure in supporting the child/young person to repair harm caused, successfully complete their sentence and move on with their lives.
About you:
- Are committed to treating people fairly and with respect and will follow the Council’s Code of Conduct and Diversity policies.
- Have experience of working with children and young people (this can be voluntary or paid)
- Volunteers need to be 18 years old or over
- Willing to spend a minimum of two hours a week on panels
- Can make a 12-month commitment
- Successful volunteers will be subject to pre-volunteering checks as part of our safer recruitment measures i.e. Disclosure Barring Service and References.
