Community TechAid: Device quickstart

Personalised set-up support is now offered by Commnity TechAid to their recipients. Many users struggle getting set up and these one-to-one sessions will help build confidence and allow those supported by Community TechAid to get the most out of their device.

Sessions will be bookable and take place at Community TechAid in Oval. Each session will run for 30 minutes and will cover the user's specific needs, including device set-up and foundational skills such as changing passwords and connecting to the internet.

The sessions will also offer assistance with specific support, such as installing a new program or making use of a hotspot device, and signposting to additional support classes and online courses. All organisation requests will be offered a slot for their recipient, and those who have previously received a device will be welcome to book. When you are booking, please provide a brief summary of what support will be required during the session to ensure we have the most suitable person to assist.

Community TechAid are initially piloting the programme and will begin offering slots on Monday evening’s between 5pm and 7pm and Thursday morning’s between 10am and 12pm. We recognise that many of our users struggle getting set up and we hope that these one-to-one sessions will help build confidence and allow those we support to get the most out of their device.
