Since April the Norwood & Brixton Foodbank has fed 16,000 people across Lambeth and over 6,000 of those were children. Over 300 people volunteer, and over 170 tonnes of food has been distributed during this period. Have a look at the latest Foodbank video for a behind the scenes view of the Streatham warehouse.
Foodbank are currently preparing for the likelihood of a huge uptake over the winter months with the declining economic situation and difficulties accessing benefit. Volunteer drivers are being sought; drivers need to be able to spare as little as a few hours a week. The Foodbank are also seeking anyone who has access to a van that could be loaned or leased.
