bell house

The wonderful Bell House is growing its services and is now seeking more volunteers to help, including those who want to help fundraise:

Great news! Over the last few months, Bell House has received incredible support from donors and funders to help us expand and strengthen our work in the community.

Recent funding has enabled:

  • a new classroom, funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund
  • the 2026 Dyslexia Fair, supported by Southwark
  • new tools for the Repair Hub, thanks to the local environmental fund
  • neurodiversity screenings, funded by a small London-based charity
  • stitching for Ukrainians, supported through Dulwich Society-organised talks
  • a new Creative Health project, using art to improve wellbeing, owing to a wellwisher
  • installation of high-quality Wi-Fi, donated by a private supporter

And alongside all of this, Bell House continues to benefit from the generosity of dozens and dozens of volunteers who give their time, skills and energy to the charity.

Could you join our Donations & Grants ("DoG") Group?

Our friendly and enthusiastic DoG group is led by Edith, a local volunteer, and currently consists of five members. We meet online every two weeks to discuss funding opportunities, prepare grant applications and build relationships with potential donors.

It’s rewarding work — and a great way to learn more about fundraising, charities and the world of grant-making.

By joining, you could:

  • gain experience in fundraising and donor engagement
  • meet like-minded people and make new friends beyond the group
  • contribute ideas for growing our network including future donor and legacy programmes
  • help support Bell House Dulwich, a local educational charity

If you are interested in volunteering, please email edith@bellhouse.co.uk, telling us:

(a) a bit about yourself, including any relevant experience or skills
(b) your phone number and a general idea of where you live
(c) optionally, any ideas or vision you may have for developing our Donations & Grants activities.
