Paid opportunities for young people at AgeUK

There are some great opportunities for young people to join Lambeth AgeUK in paid temporary positions giving excellent experience in working in a variety of settings supporting people in our community.

Kickstart Jobs
Kickstart jobs are six month long work placements; 25 hours a week; paid at £10.85 an hour (London Living Wage).

2 x Operations & Admin Assistant - This role will help to manage AgeUK internal operations and administrative processes. They will be largely based in the office, supporting the HR & Admin Team, which will include managing systems such as posting information to clients, supporting the management of equipment, stock etc. They will learn to be organised with good skills in administration.   

2 x MYsocial Community Rewards Agent - This role will support the AgeUK MYsocial program, and it will be all about making connections with local businesses to help get deals for members.  It will be a sales-ey type role but with a social cause. The person will contact businesses via email, phone and going to visit them, and encourage the businesses to sign up for the community deals program, thus giving MYsocial members a chance to get more deals from local businesses!

1 x Community & Volunteer Programmes Assistant - This role will help across all programs within the MYneighbour service. They will help to support with Friendships, Home Cooks, MYdigital & others. They will get involved in working with clients, helping to coordinate volunteers, administering the AgeUK database, helping to collate feedback and representing the service at community and other events. 

1 x Event Planner & Host - This person will work with the AgeUK MYsocial team which creates a regular program of social events and activities. They will busy themselves organising and hosting fun events in the MYsocial calendar. This may mean hosting things online, going for walks with clients (in groups of 6!), or anything else fun they and the team come up with!   

1 x Activity Promotion & Inclusion Agent - This person will work with our MYsocial team which creates a regular program of social events and activities. They will be a key point of contact for MYsocial's members, and will spend a lot of the time having a good natter, reminding members of the great activities on offer and how they can get involved!   

1 x Digital Events Assistant - This person will work with our MYsocial team which creates a regular program of social events and activities. They will help to manage our online events program. Due to the pandemic many events and activities take place online, and this role will help to organise, promote and host them. It might mean welcoming people into a quiz on zoom, helping people attend a DJ/music event online or helping to promote the online reading group, or anything else we create together! 

1 x Gateway Phone & Admin Assistant - This role will help on the AgeUK phone lines, which receive calls from people needing help in Lambeth. Its not an emergency line, but people do ring requesting various types of help in their lives, ranging from help with benefits, people in food poverty, people who are lonely, people who have housing issues etc. This role will include helping answer calls from clients and then completing relevant admin tasks.
