Under the banner “Our Streets”, Lambeth Council wants your ideas on how to improve local streets to make your neighbourhood a better place to live. This could include more street trees, greening, more traffic calming, or improving road safety. Our Streets is the latest phase of the Neighbourhood Enhancement Programme and has been developed by Lambeth in order to totally change the process of undertaking consultation on street improvements. Rather than producing a scheme and then asking people their opinions, through Our Streets, traffic engineers and consultation officers approach citizens and ask them what they would like to see changed in their area. Our Streets has been running since 2013 across different wards, and has now reached all three of the wards in our patch.
The main focus of Our Streets is on speed limits and traffic calming; parking and loading arrangements; crossing points; car clubs; cycling facilities; public realm improvements; seating; bins; greenery; signage and removal of street clutter. However, wider concerns may also be raised.
Norwood Forum would encourage you to let the Council have your ideas as soon as possible and by no later than Friday 6 April 2018:
