Celebrating 100 years of Free Public Libraries: Learning

Throughout 2020 Lambeth Libraries is celebrating the UNESCO Public Libraries Manifesto. The Manifesto is based on a number of key principles which underline the vision it sets out for public libraries.

This January Lambeth Libraries will celebrate what Lambeth Libraries contributes to learning - both formal and informal. The Manifesto has a strong emphasis on libraries as centres of learning, and in turn, learning as the driver of personal and collective development. Brixton, Clapham, Durning, Tate South Lambeth, Streatham and West Norwood libraries run a Book-a-Librarian scheme where you can book the expertise of a librarian for an hour slot to help with basic IT and Digital technology, online form filling etc.
The Learning programme is available from your local library and includes English conversation groups, computer skills, coding for children and adults, employment and CV support, even Tai Chi, arts and craft activities and chess lessons. So much to learn... Come and join the library and help us celebrate!
