To start the ball rolling Norwood Forum are looking for a Community Co-ordinator/Administrator. Job description with details on how to apply are on the Norwood Forum website. Closing date for applicants is Friday 14th June 2013 – 5:00pm.
On Tuesday 21st May 2013 Norwood Forum are hosting a CHANGES TO BENEFITS SESSION and how they may effect you event at Berridge Road Resource Centre, Berridge Road, SE19 10:00 – 12:00am. We have Dan Norris from Lambeth Council giving a presentation on the changes to Welfare Benefits, with Jemal Richards, Customer Support Officer from Lunhan Road Housing Office, to answer any questions you may have.

On Saturday 25th May 2013 the Portico Gallery are holding Guerilla Flower Planting outside the closed West Norwood Library from 11:00am onwards. There will also be the opportunity to design and make tiles with West Norwood clay. Please bring your own tools for planting and clearing away. Gloves are advisable plus some rubbish bags!
On Wednesday 29th May 2013 Lambeth Pensioners Action Group in conjunction with Lambeth Age UK are holding a conference on housing older people ‘MORE THAN A ROOF OVER YOUR HEAD’. Please see the Norwood Forum website.
On Tuesday 04 June 2013 the Norwood One O Clock Club between 1:30 – 3:00pm Lambeth Council will be holding a stakeholder (user) Event at Norwood OOCC. This will provide an opportunity to showcase the site, and start a community conversation about what people value about the current site (club), what the future could look like and how the community would like to get involved. So please do go along all input ideas most welcome.
On Saturday 08th June the Friends of Norwood Park are holding their annual dog show. This year’s dog show will be even bigger and better as we are expanding it to include a summer fair. The event is between 12:00 – 4:30pm and hope it will be even more popular with families.The successful dog show, now in its third year will be supported by Battersea Dogs and Cats Home, Paxton Vets and Lambeth Council’s animal welfare officer. Registration takes place between 12:45-1:45pm.
Organiser Andrea Perry said: “The past dog shows have been great fun and by expanding it to include a summer fair we envisage it will be an even more popular.We really hope that local people and businesses will turn out and support their local park.We are hiring out stalls and hope to raise a lot of money for good causes. We have an open mic competition and are expecting a lot of talented locals to step up and showcase their talents.”In addition to the dog show, we will have a fete with coconut shy, a bouncy castle, face painting, various stalls, and music.
Proceeds from the event will go to the Matilda Kelly appeal and The Friends of Norwood Park.Three-year-old Matilda needs an operation to enable her to walk which is only available in America and costs £75,000. There will be free micro chipping and dog tag engraving for your pooch.Categories for the Dog Show are: Prettiest Bitch Most Handsome Dog Cutest Puppy Golden Oldie Dog Most Like Its Owner Doggie Fancy Dress Dog’s Got Talent Dog show entrance £1 per class with proceeds to Battersea Dogs Home.
